Cancellation & Refund Policy

For students

When you book a lesson, your card is authorized for the full amount but not charged immediately. You're only charged once the coach confirms the booking. You can cancel a pending request anytime before the coach approves it, with no charge.

Once a lesson is confirmed and your card has been charged, you can still cancel — but the refund depends on timing:

If the coach cancels for any reason, you receive a full refund regardless of timing.

If a coach doesn't respond

Coaches have 24 hours to confirm or decline a booking request. If a coach doesn't respond within 24 hours, the request is automatically cancelled and your card authorization is released — no charge is made.

Disputes & special circumstances

If you experience an issue with a lesson (no-show, safety concern, dissatisfaction), email us at team@swingablegolf.com within 48 hours of the lesson. We review disputes case-by-case.

How Swingable Golf Works

Swingable Golf is a marketplace that connects students with independent golf coaches. We do not employ coaches and do not provide golf instruction directly.

Payments & Fees

What students pay

The total charge shown at checkout includes the coach's lesson rate plus an 8% service fee. Both are clearly itemized before payment.

How coaches get paid

Coaches receive 92% of the lesson rate they set. Stripe processes payouts directly to the coach's bank account, typically within 2 business days after the lesson date.

Tax forms

Stripe issues 1099-K forms to coaches earning more than $600 per year on Swingable Golf. Coaches are responsible for their own tax reporting on lesson income.

Disputes & chargebacks

If a student disputes a charge with their bank, we cooperate fully with both parties to resolve. Frivolous chargebacks may result in account suspension.

Coach Independent Contractor Agreement

This agreement applies to anyone offering coaching services through Swingable Golf (the "Platform"). By creating a coach account and offering lessons, you ("Coach") agree to the following terms with Swingable Golf LLC.

Note: This is a marketplace agreement, not a substitute for legal advice. Coaches are encouraged to consult their own attorney regarding business structure, taxes, and liability in their state.

You are an independent contractor providing services to your own students. You are not an employee, partner, agent, joint venturer, or franchisee of Swingable Golf. Nothing in this agreement creates an employment relationship.

You may also coach independently outside the Platform. This agreement is non-exclusive — Swingable Golf does not claim any of your coaching work conducted outside of bookings made through the Platform.

Swingable Golf provides:

Swingable Golf does not direct how you teach, guarantee any specific number of bookings or amount of income, provide students, locations, or equipment, or supervise or participate in lessons.

5. Termination

Either you or Swingable Golf may terminate this relationship at any time, with or without cause. On termination:

Swingable Golf may immediately suspend an account for fraud, harassment, repeated no-shows, attempts to circumvent Platform fees by directing transactions off-platform, or violations of these terms.

6. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Swingable Golf LLC, its owners, and its affiliates from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from: lessons you provide, your conduct or the conduct of your students during lessons, your tax or insurance obligations, or your representations about your credentials or qualifications.

7. Modifications

Swingable Golf may update this agreement from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email to your coach account. Continuing to offer lessons after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

8. Governing law

This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Dallas County, Texas.

You must be 18 years or older to book lessons or coach on Swingable Golf. For lessons involving minors (under 18), the booking student must be a parent or legal guardian, and an adult must be present during the lesson.

Limitation of liability

Swingable Golf provides a platform connecting students and coaches. We do not supervise lessons, control coach methods, or guarantee outcomes. By using Swingable Golf, you acknowledge that:

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Swingable Golf LLC's total liability for any claim related to the platform is limited to the platform fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Account suspension

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, including but not limited to: fraud, harassment, repeated no-shows, or attempting to circumvent platform fees by directing transactions off-platform.

Privacy

We collect only the information needed to operate the platform: account info (name, email, phone), booking details, and payment info (handled directly by Stripe; we don't store card numbers).

We don't sell your data. We share information with coaches/students only as needed to facilitate bookings (e.g., a student's name and email is shared with their coach after booking).

You can request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing team@swingablegolf.com.
